Final Project: Dialogue

Final Project: Dialogue For my final assignment I decided to create Mickey Mouse stating a few lines of dialogue. Designing Mickey standing behind a desk was a fun task, but remaining consistent throughout frames was a bit challenging. I used a reference video which made the animation of the mouth and head movements a lot easier. This was truly a great learning experience and test of my skills in Toon Boom Harmony, and I look forward on further developing those from here. I am happy with the way this final project came out, and think it is a good representation of the progress I have made throughout this course.

Project 4: Motion Media Music Video

Project 4: Motion Media Music Video The following YouTube link is a motion media music video I created in After Effects to the song "Circles" by Post Malone. I have seen many similar videos in the past, but have never had the opportunity to make one. Since beginning my experience with After Effects, I have learned a lot more skills including smoother animation, text, and other design elements. I believe I did well diversifying the range of text shown and creating a unique piece that resembles the song. https://youtu.be/XjbePxvrEqc

Assignment 4: Bouncing Ball in an Environment, in After Effects

Assignment 4: Bouncing Ball in an Environment, in After Effects This was my first experience animating in After Effects in order to create a bouncing ball. I choose to have it bounce in the air between two colorful platforms and then off the screen. Designing the work in After Effects was a fairly simple task; however, the animation was a bit tricky. I believe I did a good job showcasing transformation and size, but struggled with speed. I hope to better my skills in this program moving forward in order to create smoother and more complex animations.

Project 1: Weight

Project 1: Weight My weight project consists of the figure of a man lifting a simple, but decently heavy, box. He goes through the motions of bending down, gripping, and then struggling to lift the box in the outside landscape. I had originally hoped to make the animation a perfect loop when played, yet it falls a bit off, but close. Design was once again a challenge for me when it came to this assignment using Harmony; however, I believe I created a smooth animation that captures the feature of weight.

Assignment 3: Walk Cycle

Assignment 3: Walk Cycle For this walk cycle created in Toon Boom Harmony, I aimed to make a smooth animation of my original character. I had a bit of trouble with design for the characters moving attributes, but believe the animation holds true to my intention of making him walk. The animation displays all positions of a walk cycle in a fluid motion. Drawing is not my best skill, but I enjoyed animating this character and achieving the goal I was set out to accomplish.

Project 2: Rotoscope

Project 2: Rotoscope My rotoscope project is a recreation of an iconic WWE moment featuring Jeff Hardy jumping off a ladder onto the "Rated-R Superstar" Edge. This is one of my favorite wrestling moments, so it was both fun and interesting to use it for this animation. This was my first experience creating a project of this nature, as well as my first time using the Toon Boom Harmony software. Despite being a bit tedious, I enjoyed this project and the process it took to create it.

Project 1: Stop Motion Short Film

Project 1: Stop Motion Short Film The following stop-motion short film "Phil the Fish" was created alongside Nick Gross. We both designed the characters and scenery, and animated the project together. I am proud of this work because of the cohesiveness of the art design and sound, as well as smooth animation. It was a good experience putting in the effort to create this film as it is a work I hope to use on my portfolio moving forward.
